Hi - I’m Julia.
Welcome to my Substack. This is a space for exploring the future of health, wellness, and longevity - what’s real, what’s hype, and what’s actually worth your time. I’ll take you inside the things I’ve seen, tested, partnered with, or passed on during my time at Equinox.
My non-negotiables: scientific efficacy (though that’s always evolving), a deep curiosity for what’s next, and an approach that refuses to take any of this too seriously.
If you’re looking for wellness dogma, this isn’t the place.
What to expect?
A mix of weekly deep dives and quick-hit dispatches.
Think: product reviews I actually use, behind-the-scenes intel from the health and luxury space, thoughts on where the industry is headed, and conversations with people pushing the edges of science, wellness, and consumer.
Why Me?
I spent the last six years at Equinox, working side by side with Chairman Harvey Spevak to shape the company’s vision and strategy across innovation and the broader business. I helped open Equinox Hotels, launch Equinox Media, and in my final role as Head of Partnerships and Business Development, I led the launch of Equinox Optimize - a $40K/year membership program in partnership with Function Health. I also created Equinox Circle, the brand partnership platform behind collaborations with Oura, StockX, Blade, and Indagare.
Behind the scenes, I spent most of my time focused on one question: how do we make wellness smarter, more effective, and actually work for real life? I was there when the Hotel opened. I was there when COVID hit. I’m incredibly proud of what we built, and I remain a strategic advisor to the company.
But at some point, I realized what I loved even more than Equinox (and trust me, that job was fun) was the bigger picture: building the future of health itself.
In early 2020, while exploring what was next for Equinox, I came across the longevity research coming out of David Sinclair’s lab. It cracked open a whole new worldview. Everything changed. I spoke to every scientist, thought leader, and founder who would take a meeting. I ran deep diligence on startups and protocols to evaluate what was actually worth bringing to Equinox. And I kept returning to one question: what does it take to live well longer?
Let’s be honest: the word “longevity” is everywhere, and in most cases, no one can clearly define it. But the research? Still thrilling. Still evolving. Still full of promise.
I believe in daily habits over quick hacks. In behavior change over biohacking theater. I care less about perfect metrics and more about what makes us feel alive - today and in 30 years. And in every role I held at Equinox - from partnerships to digital strategy - that belief guided everything: How do we actually help people get healthier?
And also - this is real life
I’m NOT a wellness influencer. I live in different time zones, on planes, in meetings. I love cooking, but never have time for it. I love eating out. I love my champagne as much as my supplements. I love going out to dance as much as my morning meditation.
I refuse to give up my life in order to live longer.
That trade-off? Not worth it - for me.
But that’s a personal choice.
If you’re looking for real talk, scientific curiosity, and a perspective that blends rigor with reality - you’re in the right place.
We are just getting started

Couldn't agree more with "daily habits over quick fixes ". IMHO, 7 pillars essential for health and longevity are: Fuel. Move. Sleep. Belong. Believe. Connect. Give.
Amen to this:
"I believe in daily habits over quick hacks. In behavior change over biohacking theater."
